Live music Derrick Feole will play three 20 minute sets on his historical 1931 Selmer Tenor Saxophone which belonged to Joe Viola the former sax player with the original Glen Miller Orchestra. Having met as Music students at the Hochschule Luzern, they soon began to play together exploring many styles, including styles outside of their classical music studies. Playing Banjo and Mandola, Brendan grew up in a very traditional Irish music part of Ireland, Co Clare. He played with his father in Traditional Irish Session’s from a young age and went on to work with important Irish artists like Zoe Conway and recently Christy McNamara. Raoul grew up in Switzerland and studied Classical music from an early age and focused all his energy on his solo guitar playing, he has played in several venues around Europe including the KKL Luzern. Both musicians won several prizes for their Classical Guitar playing and received several scholarships during their studies. They lead and direct one of Europe’s exciting guitar orchestra the ‘Diversus Guitar Ensemble’. With ‘Derra’ they look for another direction, playing various types of folk tunes/songs and their own music. You will see and learn first hand about the easy-to-do- paddling routes. The presentors include Ruedi Jaisli, the owner of Swiss Trails, one of Switzerland’s foremost experts on Swiss adventure travel, author of a number of Swiss hiking and biking books who conceived a company to make all the national routes bookable. He teams up with Swiss-American, Rene Welti, a certified Swiss hiking guide who recently moved to Lucerne after living in the USA for most of his life. SwissTrails is responsible for bookings across all 23 national routes in all 5 areas of the SchweizMobil project – cycling, walking, mountain biking, skating and canoeing. Prof. Dr. Nikolina Fuduric has an MBA (St. Louis University) specializing in international business and a PhD (Aalborg Universitet) focusing on entrepreneurship in resource poor regions. Her research question was: Where and how do entrepreneurs in these regions find their resources? chemical company, financial analysis at a pharmaceutical, business development management for a privately held firm and as the owner of a niche market research firm. Dr. Fuduric has an entrepreneurship coaching firm (Brain Buoy) and holds talks for business clubs around the themes of: entrepreneurship/intrapreneurship, international marketing & regional economic development. At present, she teaches, consults and researches at the Fachhochschule Nordwestschweiz (FHNW). Her area of expertise at the FHNW is international marketing. |
